It’s been a long time since you could only get the original iPhone directly from Apple or from AT&T. Today, it’s offered by all major carriers and big retailers, and many of them want to entice you to buy with them by offering special deals. Of course, you can still buy from Apple directly, either in-store or online.
If you want to get a good deal on an iPhone 15 or iPhone 15 Plus, or want to buy the iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 15 Pro Max (which have been discontinued by Apple), here’s a summary of some of the best deals and promotions offered by popular retailers and carriers to help you get the best deal on your new iPhone.
If you aren’t sure which new iPhone to buy, we compare every iPhone in a separate article.
We have a separate article where we explain How to get the best Phone 16, Plus, Pro, and Pro Max deals in the U.S. now that the new iPhone 16 models have launched. If you’re looking for other iPhones, check out our overall Best iPhone deals.
Unlocked iPhone 15 deals
Buying direct from Apple is one of the few ways to buy an unlocked, SIM-free iPhone 15 or iPhone 15 Plus, and it’s the go-to place to join the iPhone Upgrade Program which from $39.50 a month will get you a new iPhone every year including AppleCare+ coverage.
Apple will let you trade in your old iPhone and get up to $650 in credit toward a new purchase. You can also trade an old iPhone with Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart. We cover How to sell or trade in your old iPhone separately.
In the U.S., Apple is partnering with carriers to offer discounts on the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus. You get a $30 discount if you buy a phone activated on AT&T, Verizon, or T-Mobile. That’s why Apple lists the price of the iPhone 15 as $799 and the iPhone 15 Plus as $899—that’s the price with the carrier-activated discount applied.
You’ll always pay full price at the Apple Store, but it’s a direct and simple way to get an iPhone, and in some cases the only place to buy one without activating it on a mobile network.

Carrier stores and contract deals
If you want to buy the latest iPhone for less than the full retail price, you’re probably going to need to get it from a carrier or mobile provider, and there will often be significant strings attached. These deals can be complicated, so be sure to read the fine print. You can purchase directly from Apple with activation on a carrier to get special carrier deals, though you may have more options if you buy from the carrier.
- AT&T: Get up to $1,000 in bill credits when you buy a new iPhone 15 Pro ($830 for iPhone 15) and trade in your old phone, with a qualifying unlimited plan.
- T-Mobile: Get up to $650 in 24 monthly bill credits when you buy an iPhone and trade in an eligible device, with Magenta MAX plan. Up to $1,000 with Go5G or Go5G Next plans.
- Verizon: Get up to $830 in bill credits toward an iPhone 15, or $1,000 in bill credits toward an iPhone 15 Pro, with trade-in and select Unlimited plans. New line activation may be required.
- Boost Infinite: Get up to $830 via 36 monthly bill credits when you trade in an eligible phone and sign up for Infinite Unlimited+.
Where to get refurbished iPhone 15 deals
If you haven’t already, you may want to consider buying a refurbished iPhone 15 to save money (and the environment). Refurbished devices are thoroughly tested and repaired to work and look just like new. In the case of official Apple refurbished iPhones, you get a brand-new body and screen, box, accessories, battery, and warranty. It’s almost indistinguishable from buying a new iPhone.
See our full guide to buying refurbished or second-hand iPhones for more.
The first place to shop for a refurbished iPhone is on the Apple Refurbished Store. At the time of this writing, Apple does not yet offer refurbished iPhone 15 models for sale—they usually start showing up when the next model is released (so the iPhone 14 line will end up there soon). Rest assured, the Apple Refurbished Store is where you can get the highest quality of refurbished iPhones.
Since it will take so long for Apple to offer refurbished iPhone 15 models, or if you just want to look for a better deal, you can check these resellers instead:
